Industrial

Industrial heating system for the Modulnova company

For a new warehouse of about 6000 square metres in the province of Pordenone, owned by the Modulnova company, an Italian brand that has been designing and manufacturing designer kitchens, living rooms and contemporary bathrooms for over thirty years, the choice fell on the industrial PVC bar system consisting of a smooth extruded insulation panel with a compressive strength of 500 kPa and Ø 20 mm piping housed in special support bars.

This underfloor heating system, specifically for large industrial environments, offers energy, economic, safety and comfort benefits compared to traditional air systems. Specifically, it can allow the user to save up to 50% energy as it heats at eye level, avoiding unnecessary heat loss to the ceiling, and makes the temperature uniform throughout the area served by the system.

A special feature of the system is the PVC bar with a U-shaped profile, designed to accommodate the Ø 20/25 pipe, centre distance 50 or 100 mm, equipped with an adhesive lower band for fixing to the polyethylene sheet with or without thermal insulation. Special clips allow the support bar to be anchored to the thermal insulation layer and plastic plugs guarantee the stability of the panels during the laying of the pipe.

The reason why, in this specific case, it was decided to opt for a PVC bar system is closely linked to two factors: the desire to offer all the comfort benefits of radiant heating systems to the personnel who will work in the warehouse, and the possibility of completing the system with insulating panels that maximise system efficiency and energy savings, and are characterised by excellent compressive strength properties. This characteristic is especially necessary depending on the intended use of the space.
