RDZ underfloor heating and cooling for the belly of the ‘Whale A zero environmental impact redevelopment project that combines food, environment and climate
Not far from the historical centre and the university area of Bologna stands the new Porta Europa building complex resulting from the redevelopment of the Via Stalingrado district, one of the city's busiest arteries.
Within this complex emerges an unusual restaurant known for its elongated cloud shape. It is ‘La Balena’.
Good food, first-rate ingredients that belong to the territory and tradition, five hectares of organic fruit and vegetables and two hectares of woodland for animals in the countryside adjacent to Bologna, respect for the marine habitat, ethical relations with suppliers, urban redevelopment, a classical-modern envelope of the restaurant, furnishings with attention to every detail, from the choice of wood for the tables to the terracotta floor tiles... and a cuisine by Marcello Leoni.
Even the systems are in line with the essence of the room: a Cover 30 underfloor heating and cooling system guarantees comfort in all seasons, reduced energy consumption, healthiness of the rooms, and the possibility of using the entire available surface area. To these benefits are added climatic control in winter and summer, reduction of relative humidity, maintenance of climatic comfort without air jets, without limits to the usability of the spaces and without the use of visible heating-cooling bodies that could interfere with the aesthetics of the interior.
