Excellence in the Building Industry: RDZ Heating System for Pietro Nenni Nursery School​

Building schools is a very important topic nowadays in Italy, thus involving the government and different organizations. A significant retrofit program has been recently approved and it has brought to the refurbishment of some Italian schools such as “Pietro Nenni” nursery school in Bagnolo Mella (BS). This is a very prestigious project which was recognized as one of the 10 most innovative schools rewarded by Legambiente.

The building unfolds in prefabricated structures fanned out over a single floor, and the symbiosis of wood and glass as renewable resources is unique. Large windows bring natural light into the classrooms and common areas, while the photovoltaic system collects the sun's energy, which is converted into thermal energy through the use of an air/water heat pump. This energy is then efficiently distributed to the various rooms by the underfloor heating and cooling system designed by the Arking studio in Bagnolo Mella (BS). Here, RDZ's radiant technology provides the ideal child-friendly climate: comfortable surfaces for crawling, walking, and free play; an absence of clutter; a hygienic, healthy environment free of dust movement and impurities; and an even distribution of temperatures.

At the same time, a dedicated ventilation and humidity control system ensures air quality, another essential component for the health of the building and its occupants.
