Underfloor heating for the renovation of an old farmhouse on the Lavarone plateau (TN)
Comfort, energy saving, sustainability and low thermal inertia

In the intimate naturalistic and landscape context of the Lavarone plateau (TN) there is the renovation with extension of an old farmhouse on three floors of 200 m2 in energy class B+ with a high degree of insulation and a compact structure.

For the choice of the systems, the Tekno Logich sas studio of Rovereto (TN) and the installation company Bort Franco of Pergine Valsugana (TN) opted for RDZ underfloor heating, which guarantees climatic comfort, aesthetics, healthiness, reduced energy consumption and low thermal inertia.

The systems chosen are of three types: Rete filo 3 mm on the ground floor, New Plus on the day floor, Slim on the night floor, all low-thickness systems ideal for renovations, characterised by high mechanical resistance of the panel and versatility of application. The use of low-thickness systems was preferred not only because of problems of available quotas, but also to reduce thermal inertia. In fact, since this is a mountain home with high thermal insulation and low energy requirements, it was decided to opt for a fast and more reactive system, i.e. one capable of responding quickly to climatic variations.

The laying steps of the underfloor system were extreme (step 8) in order to have low flow temperatures as the building is served by a geothermal heat pump. 

As the floors are made of wood, on the first and second floors, a 20 mm soundproofing mat was laid under the RDZ panel.

Finally, the RDZ regulation controls the water flow temperature according to the outside temperature, ensuring maximum indoor comfort and correct operation of the system.
